Medford 59 – NRHEG 13
Comments by Head Coach Shawn Larsen
Going into this match we knew that Medford is a very good team, and they proved it tonight. I thought that we competed well in a tough situation. It is my hope that we are willing to bring the fight in our upcoming matches, like I felt we did tonight for the most part.
We had four very nice wins tonight. Jacob Karl (9) at 106, got the dual started out right four us with a very controlled win. Makota Misgen (12) at 285, wrestled about as well as he has this season in a one-sided 5-0 win. Makota has been wrestling well this season and we were happy with his effort tonight. Ryan Schlaak (8) at 152 and Aden Berg (12) at 220 stole the show tonight. Each of these two guys earned falls in their win, and both were fairly exciting. Ryan got the crowd into it when he earned his pin, and Aden brought his magic and earned a very nice pin for his last opportunity in our gym.
Our next competition is Saturday in Stewartville for the Darrell Jaeger Invitational. Wrestling starts at 10:00 am.
