Windom fugitive found dead in Minneapolis

The fugitive from Windom who skipped his murder trial has been found dead.

Convicted murderer Ralph Apmann, 58, was found deceased Friday night at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Apmann’s body has been taken to Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death.

Apmann had posted bail after he was charged in the August 2021 murder of Juan Morales-Rivera.  He failed to show up for his trial in Cottonwood County earlier this month. He was convicted of murder in his absence.
