Boys Basketball

-7th ranked Osage 57  Northwood Kensett 24  Vikings fall to 9-11

Girls Basketball

-St. Clair 70, Alden Conger/Glenville Emmons 64

-Osage 66, Northwood Kensett 55   Vikings are now 7-13

Wrestling

NRHEG Wrestling competed Friday, February 3, in Mankato, where they took on Mankato East and Waseca. The final scores were Mankato East 55 – NRHEG 24, and NRHEG 45 – Waseca 36.

Boys Hockey

-Albert Lea 2, Mankato West 2 (Overtime tie)

Tigers trailed 1-0 after 1.  Tim Chalmers would score twice in the 2nd period on the powerplay, less than 2 minutes apart, to put Albert Lea up 2-1  Chalmers now with 10 goals this season.  Mankato West would tie things up with just over 3 minutes left in the game, and no one would score in Overtime.   Albert Lea is now 15-5-1 on the season 

 

Girls Hockey

-14th ranked Albert Lea 8 Mankato West  0 

-Tigers with 2 in the first, one in the 2nd and 5 in the 3rd.  Tigers out shot West 54-10.  Scoring for Albert Lea, Hanna Austinson with 2 (13), Haley Austinson with 2 (13), Mika Cichosz with 2 (29), Morgan Goskeson (18) and 8th grader Brooke Hauser (1) also scoring   Tigers finish 10-3 in the Big Nine in 4th place, Owatonna is the conference champions.   Albert Lea is 16-6-1 overall.  Tigers will host Waseca on Saturday in the Section 1A Semifinals at 7 on KATE.  Blue Jays are 12-11-1 on the season.

Wrestling

On Saturday, February 4, NRHEG was in two places for competition. The varsity wrestled at the Takedown on 22, a tournament at Maple River. Annabelle Petsinger also competed in the Pine Island Girls’ Tournament. NRHEG was 13th out of 16 teams at this event. Panthers had one place winner in Mapleton, which was Makota Misgen, who was the champion at 285. Annabelle Petsinger was also the champion at the tournament in Pine Island.
