USC Boys’ Golf 2nd at Gopher Conference Tourney
The USC Rebel boys’ golf team participated in the end of season Gopher Conference Tournament on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Waseca’s Lakeside Country Club, on a weird weather day–sunny, rainy, calm, windy, warm, cool, etc. In fact, given weather uncertainties, the tournament was shortened from its original 18-hole structure to a simplified 9-hole structure.
There were 8 teams at this tournament and the Rebels finished in 2nd place–just 1 stroke out of first place. The top five teams were separated by a mere 7 strokes. USC golfers were also closely grouped together, yet again. Kadyn Neubauer and Blake Bullerman shot identical 42s, Luke Pederson shot 43, Carter Hart shot 45, Nick Schindler shot 49, and Levi Hinkley shot 60.
The team scores are as follows:
1) Hayfield 171
2) United South Central 172
3) JWP 173
4) Blooming Prairie 177
5) Triton 178
6) Kenyon-Wanamingo 195
7) Maple River 207
8) NRHEG inc.
The USC individual scores are as follows:
Kadyn Neubauer 42
Blake Bullerman 42
Luke Pederson 43
Carter Hart 45
Nick Schindler 49
Levi Hinkley 60
The USC boys’ golf team finishes the regular season with a record of 32-11.
The USC varsity boys’ golf team begins postseason tournament play at North Links Golf Course, near North Mankato, on Tuesday, May 31st. All high school golf tournaments, including both the Section tournaments and the State tournaments, are free and open to the public, so all are welcome to attend.
