Twins Officially Announce Re-Signing of Shortstop Correa

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are confirming that they have re-signed shortstop Carlos Correa to a six-year contract. News of the 200-million-dollar deal leaked Tuesday and the team is officially introducing Correa today at Target Field. Correa and his agent negotiated even larger contracts with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets, but those deals fell through due to concerns over his surgically-repaired ankle. He reportedly passed his physical in Minnesota.
Correa hit .291 with 22 homers and 64 R-B-I in 2022 with the Twins.
