Tigers Boy’s Hockey splits games up North over the weekend

The Albert Lea Boys Hockey team split their games up North over the Weekend.  On Friday, Albert Lea was in Hibbing and fell 5 to 1.  Tigers were down 1-0 late in the first, when Max Edwin would score on the power play to tie things up at 1-1.  Hibbing would then score 4 unanswered, 2 in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd.

On Saturday, Albert Lea rebounded with a win in Eveleth, knocking off Rock Ridge 6-4.  Both teams would score 3 times in the first, Tigers would get a goal from Spencer VanBeek and two goals from Conner Pirsig.  Albert Lea would break the 3-3 tie with 2 goals in the 2nd, one by VanBeek with his 2nd, and Max Edwin to make it 5-3. Rock Ridge would cut the lead to 5-4 in the 3rd, but Jospeh Yoon netted a goal, and the Tigers held on for the 6-4 win.  Albert Lea is now 2-1 on the season and will host Rochester Century on Thursday
