Albert Lea 1

Scoreless game until the the 3rd, East would jump up 1-0. Albert Lea would tie things up at 1, 26 seconds later, Ester Yoon with her 2nd goal of the state tournament, assisted by Mika Cichosz.  East would go up 2-1 and add an empty netter to win 3-1. Racheal Doppelhammer in net for Albert Lea had  34 saves, Tigers were outshot 37-12.  Albert Lea wraps up the season with a 14-12-1.  Tigers wrap up their first ever trip to the State tournament

Boys Hockey, Section 1A Quarterfinals

#3 Albert Lea 4

#6 La Crescent Hokah 3

Albert Lea’s Tim Chalmers (17th goal) in the first period unassisted made it 1-0. La Crescent would tie things up in the 2nd; Max Edwin (3rd goal), would put the Tigers up 2-1.  The Lancers would tie things up at 2-2 with less than 30 seconds to go in the 2nd period.  In the 3rd period, La Crescent Hokah would take the lead  3-2. Elijiah Farris (10th goal) would tie things up at the 7:24 mark, and with under 2 minutes to go Jack Ladlie (8th goal) would net the game winner.   Tigers are now 18-8, and will face Rochester Lourdes in the Section Semifinals on Saturday at 8, game on KATE
