Comments-Both the boys and girls teams had outstanding races in Austin.  We use this race as a tune up for the 2 biggest races of the season: the big 9 meet and the section meet.  The coaching staff was impressed by the effort and determination both the boys and girls teams ran with today.  We have shown that we are a very good team and we have the real possibility of participating well in the section meet in 2 weeks.  We have come out of the meet, healthy and with a great deal of confidence for the biggest races of the season.
The boys took 2nd place after losing the tie breaker to Winona.  The boys ran with a purpose and determination.  The coaching staff was impressed that we had 4 runners in the top 10.  The runners are very confident and the runners have been running in big races over the past 2 seasons and we are ready to accept the challenge of running our best in the big meets.  Leading the way for the Tigers was Gavin Hanke, Gavin came in 1st place with a time of  17:13.  Gavin had an outstanding race and he is ready for the big 9 and the conference meet.  Second for the Tigers and 2nd overall was Isaiah McGaffey, Isaiah had a tremendous race as he defeated runners that he had beaten all season.  He had a great effort at the end of the race. 3rd for the tigers was Pacey Brekke in 8th place with a time of 17:58.  Fourth for the Tigers was Ty Stout in 10th place with a time of 18:04.  Rounding out the top 5 for the tiger was Luke Wangsness in 25th place with a time of 18:55.
Girls-It was great to have the girls have a full team and team score.  The Lady Tigers were led by Elle Schulz in 7th place with a time of 21:27.  Elle has had a great few weeks and she has really found her form to lead the girls.  2nd forthegirls was Jai Maligaya in 18th place with a time of 22:15.  3rd for the Tigers in her 1st varsity race was Alizay Kratz in 26th place with a time of 22:53, 4th for the tigers was Mya Hanke in 33rd place with a time of 24:14 and rounding out the top 5 for albert Lea was Lola Hansen in 37th place with a time of 24:23.  The coaching staff was encouraged by the girls race as many girls for the 1st time ran varsity and did very well.
Next race is the big 9 in Owatonna
