COUNCIL VOTES TO REFRESH LOGO: The City of Albert Lea will start to move away from its 46-year-old sailboat logo with an updated version, costing $1,500 from a professional artist and implemented on a gradual basis. The city will use the logo on digital platforms right away and on equipment, vehicles, uniforms and supplies as they need replacing. The refreshed logo will be painted on the city’s water towers when due for painting, starting with the new central water tower this year. “If you’re always looking back, you’re not moving forward,” said Councilor Robert Rasmussen before voting to adopt the updated version.
