Statewide fugitive alert for murder defendant, after no-show for trial in Windom

(Windom, MN)  —  Authorities have put out a statewide alert for 58-year-old Ralph Apmann, who’s charged with second-degree murder and didn’t show up for his trial Monday morning  in Windom in southwest Minnesota.   Windom schools were on “soft lockdown” Monday morning until authorities determined he’d left the area.  The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says it’s believed Apmann is armed with a 9mm handgun and an AR-15 rifle and may be in the Twin Cities metro area.
