(Chanhassen, MN) — The National Weather Service is issuing red flag warnings today (Wednesday) for several southern Minnesota counties due to extreme fire risk conditions. The warnings are posted for Dodge, Filmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha, Faribault, Freeborn, Jackson, and Martin counties. Forecasters say fires can spread quickly and easily progress out of control with warm temps, gusty winds, and low humidity. Highs in the mid to upper 80s are expected today in parts of southern Minnesota.
