Maple Grove Hospital Touts 1st Baby of 2023

(Maple Grove, MN) — A girl born to a couple from Greenfield is believed to be Minnesota’s first baby of the 2023. Isabelle Alice Koopman — six pounds, 15 ounces — was born right at the stroke of midnight at Maple Grove Hospital. When contractions began just after 8 p-m New Year’s Eve, parents Ashley and Cameron Koopman started joking about how crazy it would be if their girl was the inaugural baby of 2023. Cameron says Isabelle will get to celebrate her birthday twice: When she’s old enough to stay up until midnight, they’ll wish her “happy birthday,” send her to bed, and when she wakes up she can have her full birthday.
