Man Charged With Attempted Murder of White Bear Lake Officer

(White Bear Lake, MN) — A White Bear Lake man is charged with attempted murder for the alleged shooting of a police officer Tuesday night. Thirty-three-year-old Daniel Holmgren, Junior is accused of firing multiple shots through a bedroom door and striking one of the four officers. Police returned fire and then left the apartment. The officer was hit in the leg, stomach, and pelvis and is recovering from surgery. Holmgren is also charged with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. He surrendered several hours later.
