Funeral Scheduled in Hudson for Slain St. Croix County Deputy Leising

(Hudson, WI) — The funeral and visitation for slain St. Croix County Sheriff’s Deputy Kaitie Leising is set for Friday just across the Minnesota border at Hudson High School. Twenty-nine-year-old Leising was fatally shot while responding to a report of a drunken driver in a ditch Saturday night near Glenwood City, Wisconsin. Investigators say 34-year-old Jeremiah Johnson of Stillwater shot Leising and then turned the gun on himself in the woods. Johnson had an extensive criminal record in Minnesota. Sheriff Scott Knudson says there’s been an outpouring of support on both sides of the river. Leising leaves behind a wife and a three-month-old baby.
