Crash on Highway 62 Near MSP Airport Leaves 1 Dead, Closes Roadway for Hours

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating an early morning (Monday) crash on Highway 62 near Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport that left one person dead. The wreck closed down the Crosstown in both directions for several hours. The report says a pickup pulling a trailer went into the ditch and collided with the underpart of the 34th Avenue bridge. A passenger in that vehicle was killed and the driver from Texas was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was reportedly involved. Troopers say a State Patrol squad car and a firetruck collided while responding to the scene.
