Authorities ID 2 Western Wisconsin Police Officers Killed in Shooting

(Cameron, WI) —  The police officers slain in Saturday’s shootout in northwestern Wisconsin are 32-year-old Chetek Officer Emily Breidenbach and 23-year-old Cameron Officer Hunter Scheel.  Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says, “It’s tragic. It’s terrible. We shouldn’t have to be here and talk about this, but we have to time and time again across this country.”  Breidenbach and Scheel exchanged shots with a man identified as 50-year-old Glenn Douglas Perry, who died later at a hospital.   State investigators say they were conducting a traffic stop based on a warrant and checking Perry’s welfare following notification of concerning behavior.
