35-year old Giovanni German Vasquez Rosales was convicted and sentenced after the conclusion of a jury trial Thursday to 9 years in prison for a felony charge of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 16 years of age, significant relationship, multiple acts. Court documents stated that a child protection officer with Mower County Health and Human Services interviewed a 17-year-old female on August 26th, 2019 after she disclosed that Rosales, who was known to her, had sexually abused her when she was 15. The victim went on to state that the abuse occurred on three different occasions, including once in the presence of other minor children.
Rosales pleaded not guilty to the charge against him in December of 2019, and Judge Christa Daily also determined that Rosales will be subjected to a 10-year conditional release period after he serves his prison term.
