Albert Lea Man Found Incompetent to Stand Trial for May 2022 Stabbings

(Albert Lea, MN) — A Freeborn County judge says a man from Albert Lea is incompetent to stand trial for the stabbings of three people last year. Twenty-seven-year-old C-K Kyle Kasio is facing multiple assault charges for allegedly stabbing two of the men in the chest while they were sleeping and another man in the shoulder on May 16th, 2022. Kasio is also accused of stabbing a fellow jail inmate. The judge determined that he lacked the ability to understand the legal process and communicate with his attorney. Kasio will have a review hearing in six months.
