Albert Lea man among three people injured in two-vehicle accident on I-35 in Rice County Tuesday afternoon

Three people, including an Albert Lea man were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Rice County Tuesday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2020 Nissan Frontier being driven by 50-year old Neftali Alvarado Serra of Andover, and a 1984 Nissan minivan being driven by 64-year old Wayne Arthur Clark of Albert Lea were both traveling southbound on Interstate 35 at approximately 1:19 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when the two vehicles collided at milepost 53 in Walcott Township.

Clark, Serra, and a passenger in Serra’s vehicle, 42-year old Teresa Marie Alvarado of Andover all sustained non-life threatening injuries, and Clark was transported to Owatonna Hospital for treatment.  The State Patrol indicated that all parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, plus North Ambulance both assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
