Albert Lea Girls Hockey team drops first game of the season in overtime

Saturday, November 26th Drake Arena on the Campus of St. Paul Academy

Albert Lea jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but could not hold off Metro South, who scored 3 unanswered including the game winner in Overtime to win 3-2.

Tigers scored in the first on a goal by Michaela Hanson (1st of the season) assisted by Morgan Goskeson to go up 1-0.  Tigers would add their 2nd goal in the 2nd , Hailey Austinson with the goal (3rd of the season) assisted by Kiera Erickson.

Metro South would score their first goal in the 2nd, tie things up in the 3rd and complete the comeback with the game winner in Overtime.  Metro South is made up of players from Burnsville, St. Agnes, St. Paul Academy, Faribault, Bethlehem Academy and DeLaSalle.

Tigers fall to 4-1 on the season, and will travel to Mankato East on Thursday night, game at 7:15.  Game is a rematch of last year’s Class A State Consolation Semifinal, that East won 3-1.
