Comments-The Albert Lea CC team has positioned itself for a great end of the season as the runners are running great times and are motivated to get better as we head into the last 3 weeks of the season.
We still have many goals and we are poised to achieve many of the personal and team goals we have set.  The coaching staff is optimistic that we will be a contender for a section title and the team will do everything it can to achieve this goal.
Boys-All of the boys of the varsity had personal best times.  Leading the way was Gavin Hanke in 9th place with a phenomenal time of 15:59.  Gavin ran an outstanding race and ran with the top runners in the state.  It is the 1st time he has been able to break 16 minutes.  The coaching staff is so proud of all the things that Gavin has been able to accomplish in his running career at Albert Lea.  He is very happy by the accomplishment and he continues to  push himself to be even better.  Following Gavin 28th place was Isaiah McGaffey with his personal best time of 17:05.  Following Isaiah was Ty Stout with a personal best time of 17:19 for 39th place, following Ty was Pacey Brekke with a personal best time of 17:21 in 40th place.  The final varsity athlete to score for Albert Lea was Luke Wangsness in 60th place with a 17:55.  It was a determined effort and it was so much fun to watch the boys compete at a high level.
Girls-All 3 girls on the varsity will be getting help next week as we will move up some of the jr. high girls to have a complete team.  Leading the tiger was Elle Schulz with a personal best time of 21:12 for 60th place.  Elle has been running so well and continues to improve to make the girls team better.  Elle was followed by Jai Maligaya in 69th with a time of 21:30 and rounding out the girls team was Mya Hanke in 75th place with a time of 22:03.  The girls did a great job and hey look forward to have a complete team and team score to see where they rank in the big 9 and the section.
